VALDIODIOby

Valdiodio N’Diaye, a hero of Senegalese independence, was unjustly accused of plotting against the state during the “Events of 1962”.
Through the eyes of his ten-year-old daughter Amina, we discover the reasons for this injustice. A family is brutally expelled, innocent children are deprived of their father in the name of raison d’état, while Valdiodio is held incommunicado in the Kédougou penal colony deep in Senegal. The family’s life seems shattered, yet an indestructible bond is forged as time passes, and a fight begins for his release. The press is alerted, petitions are circulated, and the prisoner is finally released after 12 years of solitude.
